Hope everyone is doing well. Lately, I’ve been focused on the notion of self-care and reflecting on how I take care of myself. Maybe this stems from the fact that I work at a company whose mission is to boost everyone’s mental resilience. Regardless, I think I was due for some self-reflection on the techniques I use to pull myself out of a bad mood or an exhausting week.
That being said, what about you guys? Have you guys ever thought about how you care for yourself? Do you guys have a self-care routine?
I thought a lot about the methods that I use to help increase my energy and mood.
One of the things that I love to do when I can is to take a relaxing hot bubble bath. I have this lychee bubble bath mix that I absolutely adore. Just one sniff and it’s already enough to lift my moods. Now, couple this with the warmth of hot water and light fluffy bubbles floating around and I have myself a nice little treat for a bad day.
Another method that I like to do is to treat myself to is a good round of face care; cleansing, a clay mask, toning, and moisturizing. Ideally, my face routine is supposed to be consistent, however, with the hustle and bustle of my mornings and nights I tend to neglect the face a bit. That’s why, when I do get the chance to do my face routine I feel happier.
Besides these behavioural changes to brighten up my mood, I do have a few mindfulness techniques I utilize. These are deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. They are my go-to for stressful situations or situations where my emotions take hold of me. I do have other skills to handle things if they get worse, but those are more complicated to explain.
